La intriga

Let's put our lips together again
our lips like yesterday
now hatred and rancor are past.
Without salvation we lost our hearts
and down a sad alley we went.
I spoke out of my mind,
doubt was stronger
and weeping sank both of us
that austere, false and deceitful mouth
that sowed intrigue and betrayed us.

Isn't it true, my heart, that you love me?
Tell me, if I read it in your eyes
let them know from your mouth that it is me
the only love that your soul has kindled in you.
For pity's sake, you tell them and let them listen
those people who intrigue my love
that you are mine until death
and this love they must not feel
because they live without soul and without God.
