TangoTube (“we”, “us”) respects your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect, why, and your rights regarding that data.
What we collect
Account information
When you create an account, we store your name and email address. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email, and profile photo from Google's OAuth service.
Usage data
We record which videos you watch and like to personalize your experience (e.g. filtering by watched/unwatched videos). This data is tied to your account and is not shared with third parties.
Cookies
We use essential cookies to keep you signed in and remember your preferences (such as dark mode). We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.
Third-party services
TangoTube relies on the following third-party services:
- YouTube API Services — video playback and metadata. YouTube's use is governed by the YouTube Terms of Service and Google Privacy Policy.
- Google OAuth — for sign-in via Google accounts.
- Sentry — error monitoring to help us fix bugs. Error reports may include your browser type and the page URL but not personally identifiable information.
- New Relic — application performance monitoring. Collects aggregated performance metrics, not personal data.
How we use your data
Your data is used solely to operate and improve TangoTube — delivering personalized recommendations, tracking your watch history, and maintaining the service. We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes.
Data retention
Account data is retained as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your personal data is removed within 30 days. Aggregated, anonymized usage statistics may be retained indefinitely.
Your rights
You have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate data
- Request deletion of your account and associated data
- Export your data in a portable format
