Bautizo humilde del arrabal,
Guiños de luna
En cada noche, sentimental.
Sombras de tango
Dolor de herida,
Que el tiempo viejo
No respetó.
Sombras que están
Cuando el pasado
Llega en las notas
De un bandoneón.
 
Atención pongan al baile
Ha llegado el fin de fiesta,
Y al acorde de la orquesta
El “morocho” va a cantar.
Se escuchan los bandoneones,
Los violines que sollozan,
Y enredada en las parejas
La nostalgia es una queja
