When rereading sadly
Pages of deep tenderness,
Rolls at my feet the corpse of a flower
That lay among his words.
Flower that looked nobly
With picturesque beauty,
Proof of deep affection in the past...
And today a phantom of fleeting love.
 
Dead thought, that one day she offered me,
Another thought, your existence has endured,
That of my mind, always alive
That in memories is captive.
Hours that among loving joys we saw go,
Keeps the thought, your intoxicating aroma,
Eternal flower that I cultivate
With warm fervor.
 
In my solitude
My mind takes flight,
It shuns the cruel truth
And again to the skies
Where he put his longings... he leaves.
I am happy like this
Alone with my dreams,
That in that world I still own
Of the good that in this world I have already lost.
