Sara Parnigoni and Emiliano Alcaraz – Recuerdo

My idolized companion died The woman I will never forget, And that I have in my soul reflected As the dawn has in her bosom The star of the quiet dawn. In the silent and mysterious night Her memory floods my heart, And her sweetest name overflows From my lips trembling with passion. She was the hope of my life, My comfort, my joy and my feeling, The adored woman who is not forgotten And that one carries in one's soul until one dies. I loved her with blind idolatry. She was fortune for me, Because she put in my dark life With her sweet affection, the joy That consoles the anguish of living. To take her to the sighing heaven An angel of the Lord came down She was gone and my life without consolation, Wept for ever and ever, her eternal mourning. O cruel fate, where is my love!
