Boris Borgstrøm (1953) is an accordion virtuoso, like his father Ernst Borgstrøm was. (1900-1981).
Ernst Borgstrøm played great classical works as a ten-year-old. When he was 15, he performed professionally, and at the age of 19 he had already recorded several records.
In 1919 he joined Herman Gellin and became a world-famous half of the duo "Gellin and Borgstrøm". Ernst Borgstrøm has published several accordion methods and was a fine educator and composer. Originally from Denmark, the family moved to Canada in the early 50's.

Together with accordion virtuoso Gellin, Ernst Borgstrøm made numerous recordings throughout their career.
Between the years of 1919 and 1940 Gellin and Borgstrøm toured Europe and Iceland constantly, playing in some of the most famous concert halls. After giving command performances to the Danish and Norwegian Kings, and also to the former Emperor of Germany (Kaiser Wilhelm) they acquired the title as the "Royal and Imperial Accordionists", a title that stayed with them until their partnership dissolved in 1951.

Boris Borgstrøm, like his father, continued teaching and composing for the accordion and piano.
He arranged Early English Music for the accordion and developed a Progressive Method for Chromatic Free Bass Accordion and also taught composition and music history.
He is one of the instigators that got the accordion introduced into universities.
